Budget 2020: Levelling Up In Action

Today (Wednesday, 11 March 2020) brought us Rishi Sunak’s first Budget, the first of Boris Johnson’s premiership, and the first since the UK’s departure from the EU. Billed as ‘The Manifesto Budget’, this was an opportunity to follow through on the promises that delivered the Conservative Party a majority in December and demonstrate to new supporters that they have been listened to. It was also the most important day of Rishi Sunak’s short but meteoric political career thus far, giving him the stage to set out his vision for the UK’s economy.
