‘Sustainable finance’ is a strong candidate to be catchphrase or Buzzword of the year in 2018 EU policy making. Rightly so. But tackling climate change with the help of financial markets bears paradoxes that the EU needs to address while trying to re-orientate capital flows to sustainable investments.
